ATP Metz – Preview

Battle of Giants

This Monday the first game of the main draw will take place between two ATP giants, Ivo Karlovic and Sam Querrey.
Sam Querrey is known as one of USA’s twin towers along with John Isner and has a huge first serve and also a stunning forehand. He’s a very difficult player to break and playing in fast conditions like this in Metz his serve becomes even more effective.
Ivo Karlovic is all about serve, Dr. Ivo is the 7th player in ATP history with more aces with a total of 7672. In Hard Court Indoor his serve is even faster and breaking Karlovic’s serve seems like a mission impossible.

Querrey leads the head-to-head 4 – 1, but this won’t be an easy game for the American. I expect a very disputed match with both players holding their service games and tie breaks in this match will happen for sure. Karlovic seems to be in better position to take this match, but is very hard to predict a winner in this match. One thing I’m sure, it will be the serve who dictates the points.
