Jankovic vs Na Li
The last game
of this Sunday will take place in Arthur Ashe Stadium where the former number
one Jelena Jankovic will face the 2011 Roland Garros Champion Na Li
Jankovic
has improved her game this year and she’s very close from returning to top 10, a
very solid player from the baseline with a wonderful two-handed backhand down
the line. The 2008 runner-up hasn’t lost a set so far with good victories over
the young talented Madison Keys, the returned Alisa Kleybanova and the surprising
Kurumi Nara
Li is
looking to reach the quarter-finals for the 2nd time in her career,
the two times Aussie Open finalist defeated Laura Robson in her last match,
revenging last year’s loss against the British. Li produced some of her best
tennis in that match against Robson, only lost her serve one time and won 9 of
9 points around the net
The
head-to-head shows how even things are between the two, both players won four
matches and this year was Jankovic who took the victory in Stuttgart by 7 – 6 7
– 5. Li has to be very aggressive with her game while Jelena will try to keep
herself in the rallies and wait for the Chinese’s errors.
This should
be a very interesting match only decided in three sets
